Expanded Clinic Outcomes
The lack of access to mental health treatment for children continues to be a crisis in our country. Iowa is not immune to this service crisis. In Linn and the surrounding counties, over 4,500 children and their families are seeking behavioral health services.
In 2014, Tanager Place recognized this need and began the process of expanding our Behavioral and Mental Health Clinic. Since opening our new location (1030 5th Ave SE) in the MedQuarter, we have experienced exponential growth in our abilities to serve children and their families.
From June to December 2015, we have scheduled over 14,200 appointments, received 1,130 referrals, and scheduled over 1,135 clients who have been referred to Tanager Place.
We have hired new clinic staff members, gone live with an electronic health record and sent 10 clinicians to become certified in Trauma Informed Care providers and have another clinician working towards becoming certified to provide Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.
It’s not going to stop there. Tanager Place has proven performance in providing comprehensive, child-focused care but we can’t do it alone. With the help of our community, we will be able to serve more children and their families than ever before. Tanager Place is always taking new clients and open for referrals.
YOU CAN HELP
