Tasha Wiele, LMSW  LPHA

Tasha attended Coe College and the University of Northern Iowa, receiving a BA in psychology and sociology and her Masters in Social Work. Tasha is a therapist and a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA). She has been working in the mental health field for five years and enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults. Tasha will be administering assessments for Remedial Services and providing therapy to Medicaid/Title 19 clients

 
 

Cyndi Hemesath, LISW

Cyndi received her BA from the University of Iowa and her MSW from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and works part-time in the Tanager Place Mental Health Clinic providing direct services, assessments and counseling to adults, children and families with emotional and behavior disorders. Cyndi has been employed at Tanager Place for four years and has over six years of experience in the mental health field. In addition to her work in the Clinic, Cyndi also serves as the Director of Admissions and Consumer Services at Tanager Place. Cyndi has also worked as a Program Therapist for the Tanager Place inpatient program. . 

 
 

Joy Ashbaugh, LMHC

Joy received her BA from Central College. In 2004, Joy received her
MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco.
During her masters program, she conducted developmental psychology research with teams from the University of Iowa and University of San Cruz. Joy provides counseling to children, adolescents and adults. Joy has a special interest in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, parenting issues, child abuse, sexual abuse and trauma.  She has been in the mental health field since 1990.
 

 
 

Angela Cantrell, LISW

Angela graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minors in both Sociology and Spanish.  After graduation, Angela worked at a youth shelter and left that position to pursue her masters.  She received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2004.  Angela’s focus is treating children suffering from grief, child abuse, sexual abuse and trauma.  She has been in the social service field for over 11 years.  Prior to Tanager Place, Angela worked at Orchard Place Child Guidance Center in Des Moines, Iowa where she was a School-Based Mental Health Therapist, doing individual and family therapy. 

 
 

Kathleen Wild, CPNP

Kathleen received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science
from the University of Iowa and has been a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 1999. Prior to Tanager Place Mental Health Clinic, Kathleen worked for a Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician here in Cedar Rapids. Stacie Mitchell, LMHC CADC RPT

Stacie has been in the mental health field since 1997.  Stacie primarily works with young children and adolescents and her areas of expertise include addiction, child abuse, sexual assault, substance abuse and behavior disorder.  In addition, Stacie is a registered play therapist.

Melissa Wehr, LISW RPT

Melissa is a Licensed Therapist and Play Therapist.  Her experience in mental health includes residential and outpatient mental health treatment, play therapy, eating disorder treatment programs and medical issues dealing with diabetes.  She has been in the mental health field for over six years.  

Lindsey Andrew, Psy.D.

Dr. Andrew, the clinic psychologist, has eight years of experience in the mental health field providing individual, family and marital therapy.  In addition to outpatient therapy, she also specializes in psychological testing, assessments and evaluations.   

Frank Babcock, M.D.

Dr. Babcock joined the clinic as Child Psychiatrist to provide outpatient and inpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children and adolescents.  He is one of the few Child Psychiatrists in the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Area providing services to children dealing with mental health and behavioral issues.

Rick Larsen, M.D.

Dr. Larsen began his private practice in the Cedar Rapids area in 1988 and has been the Medical Director at Tanager Place Clinic since 1997.   He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  His professional focus is to provide diverse service and quality patient follow-up.
