Treatment Counselor

Status: Full Time
Hours: Primarily 2nd shifts, must be flexible with scheduling including weekends and holiday. Full benefits. Tuition Reimbursement available.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, or related field. Non-related degrees will be considered with two years of full time work experience in the field. Current and valid Iowa drivers license. Ability to pass required background checks. Must be able to certify and maintain all required trainings of the position.
Responsibilities: Will work as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team providing therapeutic services to clients and their families in the cottage milieu and campus settings. Will provide counseling services, monitor milieu implementation of treatment plans, complete all documentation timely as required and needed under the direction of an assigned Program Therapist. Excellent time management a must due to significant amount of paperwork. Requires strong communication, assessment and writing skills. This position will provide situational/crisis intervention, direct care, treatment and client supervision, various housekeeping functions as required and as per policy. Other duties include but are not limited to: ensuring client attendance at scheduled activities, conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions, participate in staffings as scheduled, provide transportation for clients as needed, act as liaison between treatment team members, teachers and others as required.

Parent Mentor

Status: Full Time
Hours: Schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday with flexible but variable hours which include evenings. Applicants should be expected to work evenings on a regular basis as well as daytime hours.
Requirements: A bachelor degree in human services or a related field. Must have 2 years full-time work experience in the child welfare OR a masters degree in human services or related field.
Responsibilities: Will provide direct and indirect services to families, foster families, children and adults, to assure the safety of children. Services provided may include safety checks, visitation planning and supervision of visitation, as well as other individualized case specific services. Will work with the team to provide services within required timeframes. Will also include providing safe and legal transportation for clients and providing written documentation for files timely as required.
Location: To serve Linn, Benton, Tama and Jones counties Full benefit package available including Tuition Reimbursement.

Family Advocate

Status: Full Time
Hours: Schedule is Sunday through Thursday. Applicants should be expected to work evenings on a regular basis as well as daytime hours.
Requirements: A bachelor degree in human services or a related field. Must have 2 years full-time work experience in the child welfare field OR a masters degree in human services or related field.
Responsibilities: Will provide direct and indirect services to families, foster families, children and adults, to assure the safety of children. Direct services include: ensure safe, legal transportation for self and others; meet at times and places convenient and appropriate to client needs, be accessible by phone; effectively assess client behavior and progress; provide services to assure the safety of clients served; assure children and their families receive appropriate services. On a rotating basis (approximately twice per year) carry a cell phone to respond to referrals for services within one hour. Maintain files and all reporting systems efficiently and timely as per policy and requirements of the service provided. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
