Planned Giving

Planned Giving is the process of designing your charitable gifts to provide the maximum benefits for you, your family and your friends. Our hope is that you choose the gift opportunity most ideally suited to furthering your objectives while also benefiting the children served by Tanager Place.

For many donors, making a gift through their estate is the most realistic way to provide a substantial contribution to the children of Tanager Place. A gift through your estate may also reduce or eliminate federal estate taxes.

Volk Society

It has been said that true kindness is the act of imagining as one’s own the suffering and joys of others. The extraordinary gift from Louise Randall Volk estate was a true kindness to the children of Tanager Place. Louise and Raymond Volk were a caring couple who worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Volk who were childless, decided to name Tanager Place as the principal beneficiary in their will. Their remarkable generosity heartens all of us as we continue to protect and advocate for the children we serve. To honor Louise and Raymond Volk, Tanager Place created the Volk Society.

The Volk Society is an association designed to recognize donors who make a planned gift or bequest to our Foundation. Members are listed in the Tanager Place Annual Report and recognized on a display located on the Tanager Place campus. Of course anonymity will be honored if you so choose.

Tanager Place has withstood the test of time never wavering from its original mission…to improve the lives of children in need.
