Personal Statement: My reasoning behind pursuing a career in social work stems from my inherent desire to see others succeed in fulfilling their potential. I fully trust in the process of growth, and feel that everyone is capable of making positive change. I believe that my role as a therapist is to be a helper in my clients’ individual journeys to reach self-determined goals through empowering them and assisting in bolstering the strengths they already possess. I feel that the key factor in success is the connection between client and therapist. I make a significant effort to create a healthy connection by utilizing my strengths of compassion, humor, and a non-judgmental approach to build a strong, trusting relationship. Confucius said, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. I experience fulfillment in witnessing the growth and success of my clients and adore learning from and growing along with them each and every day.
Fun Facts about You: I have a Goldendoodle who my husband and I view as one of the family, not just a pet. I love to travel to warm places as often as possible. I enjoy working out in my free time.
Why did you choose Tanager Place? I always knew I wanted to work with children, and back in 2008 I found Tanager Place. The mission statement and beliefs regarding how children and families should be treated aligned with my views, and have only been further confirmed and strengthened over the past almost 10 years.
Therapeutic Style: I make a significant effort to create a healthy connection with my clients by utilizing my strengths of compassion, humor, and a non-judgmental approach to build a strong, trusting relationship.
