Theater for Self Expression: FREE Creative Arts Program for Youth

Join Tanager’s Expressive Arts Studio for Theater for Self Expression, a free creative arts program designed to help youth build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and explore self-expression through theater-based activities.
Led by Kayla Lansing-Green, MA, RDT, T-LMHC, and Certified Playmaker, participants will engage in active, hands-on experiences that encourage storytelling, problem-solving, emotional expression, and interpersonal skill development. Through drama, movement, creativity, and collaboration, youth will have the opportunity to explore their unique voices in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Elementary students (Grades K–5) will meet from 9:00–10:00 a.m., and middle school students (Grades 6–8) will meet from 10:15–11:15 a.m. Sessions will be held at The Studio on 5th, located at 1030 5th Avenue SE, Suite 1700, Cedar Rapids.

Participants do not need to attend all four sessions, but attendance is encouraged to gain the full experience.
