May is national Mental Health Awareness Month, and at Tanager, we believe it is our duty to provide everyone the opportunity to increase their personal awareness of  mental health, gain knowledge to become an advocate for mental health change, and try out new activities or practices that can help increase personal mental wellbeing.

This year, Tanager has chosen the theme “Your Story, Your Strength” to celebrate the power of personal experiences in shaping resilience and growth. Every individual’s journey is unique, and within those stories—both the struggles and the triumphs—lies incredible strength. By honoring and sharing our stories, we break down stigma, build connection, and remind one another that mental health is a vital part of every human experience.

Explore this page to see all the ways you can join Tanager this May to celebrate Mental Health Month and embrace the power of your personal story as a source of strength and resilience—this month and every month.

Mental Health Month Activities

Join us in celebrating Mental Health Month with simple, meaningful activities that uplift and connect. Download our free Affirmation Cards, featuring messages like “I am capable” and “I matter,” plus a blank card to create your own. Use them with friends, family, or coworkers to spark positive conversations.

You can also enjoy our Story Walk—an interactive experience that encourages reflection and resilience through storytelling. Whether you’re at home, at work, or out in the community, these activities are easy ways to support mental wellness and remind others they’re not alone.
